Boneless: I’m just a quiet guy that loves skateboarding, video games, music/vinyl and anime. Art/self expression gets me stoked. Nurture your imagination!
Lemon: Always somewhere in between. Maybe someday, I’ll be free.
How did this series come about?
Lemon: So I was trying to find something to go with the music. This for me was the second series I did, the first one I rejected as soon as I saw this abandoned place. I thought I should somehow merge music with emotion and outlook. I wanted it to work as a game of colors and reflections. And this place, full of stories to tell…
Boneless: Nothing specific. When I write tunes it’s more reactive in the moment opposed to preconceived ideas. Last year I was writing 5-10 tunes a month so it’s tough to remember the headspace for each tune but yeah – just me being me haha, largely inspired by the more old skool styles/sounds of dubstep.
What made you get involved in photography/music?
Boneless: My great grandpa was a jazz drummer, and my father’s a drummer so I was in the womb being exposed heavily to tunes. I was banging on kits by 2-3 years old and I got my first guitar for my tenth birthday. By the time I was 18-19 I was exposed to dubstep/dj’ing and the rest was history, started writing tunes. Always had a big passion for music, and soundsystem culture is peak. Gotta shout out tuff gong/electro-choc radio stations on grand theft auto 4 as they definitely warmed me up more to electronic music.
Lemon: For me, it’s a way out. A way to express, a way to notice. I think a photo makes a single moment everlasting. And what more intriguing than using your imagination?!
