Weightless Sensations

SMYAH: This is my fourth album. I decided to name it Liminal Spaces because of its dream-like atmosphere. Liminal spaces are the uncertain transitions between where you’ve been and where you’re going physically, emotionally, or metaphorically, which reflects the times of creating this project.

Veronika: I am a London-based photographer drawn to the quiet beauty of observation—of human connection, of nature and fleeting moments that make up a life. My work is rooted in sensitivity and emotion, often focusing on documenting my children and the world around me. Photography, for me, is a way to hold onto the fragile truths of what it means to be alive. I’m exploring this through personal projects, always seeking to tell stories that feel intimate and honest. I also find joy in collaborating with other artists and thinkers.

SMYAH: This is my second collaboration with Veronika, I feel that her visuals bring the feeling of magical realism and make earthly places look outer worldly which really fits the idea of the music. Check out our previous collaborative series here.

Veronika: This series came together during my first visit to the rainforest in Costa Rica—not as a planned project, but as a gathering of images made in response to an overwhelming, grounding experience. I had no agenda other than to be present, to observe. The scale and intimacy of the place deeply moved me. I wanted to capture its aliveness. The images don’t demand attention, but rather draw you in gently. My hope was to evoke that meditative, almost weightless sensation I experienced—where the boundary between self and surroundings begins to blur.

Favourite mood you like to recreate and express via your work?

Veronika: … It is one of quiet introspection and connection with what is in front of me. I’m drawn to moments of stillness. I love subtle, almost invisible shifts in light and texture. I hope for  my images to evoke a sense of peace, a feeling of being deeply present and connected to both the world around us and our inner selves.
